Another wet week in Canberra and at this wedding we were ducking in and out of the rain all day with a few sunny periods breaking through now and then. Luckily there was a reasonably long one to get the ceremony in. It started pouring just as we finished the family photos. With so much rain we decided to incorporate it in some of the photos which I think lends a beautiful atmosphere to them. The getting ready shots are at Rydges Lakeside where they also had the reception. I love the shots against the cobblestone pavement which were shot from Nikki's 14th floor room balcony. The ceremony was at Glebe park in the city. All the other photos were taken at Boy's Grammar.
I loved this wedding for so many reasons. One, Nikki & Broughton were such a lovely couple. Broughton is the brother of an old friend and photography assistant of mine. Though I had only met Nikki & Broughton very briefly before the wedding it was like shooting family, it hardly seemed like work. They were such an expressive couple and Nikki was so vivacious. I also love how the wedding had such a classic, almost old-fashioned, romantic feel about it..... right up my alley! Congratulations Nikki & Broughton and thanks so much for the privilege of sharing your day.
Amazing pictures, they capture their personality so well, the bride and goom look like they are having so much fun and so much in love
